US Loosens grasp on medical marijuana laws

The Obama administration recently instructed federal prosecutors not to go after medical marijuana user’s that follow the state guidelines. Critics of Obama have been questioning his earlier campaign promises to not support the bush administration’s policy of enforcing federal laws in the wake of state legislation which allows it. The administration instead told the prosecutor’s to focus on suspects that were transporting or selling large amounts, and on drug related violence.

Some counter culture advocates are elated that the president is finally taking steps towards a more tolerant US.
